Russ’ practice focuses almost exclusively on civil litigation, with an emphasis in plaintiff’s insurance and consumer protection litigation. Experience
Russ Hazlewood is a licensed attorney admitted to practice in the state of Kansas, the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2004, Russ co-founded Graybill & Hazlewood, L.L.C., in Wichita, Kansas. Before that, he was associated with Moore Martin, L.C., and Hinkle Elkouri Law Firm L.L.C.
Russ is a Past President of the Kansas Bar Association’s Litigation Section, and he serves on the Board of Governors of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. Russ is the Insurance Law Editor of the Journal of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. Russ is regularly invited to and does present continuing legal education presentations on consumer protection, legal ethics, insurance law, and civil litigation practice.
In 2003, Russ was honored with the Consumer Advocate Award by the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. In 2007, he received the Thomas Sullivan Memorial Award from the Kansas Association for Justice. Russ has been rated AV Preeminent® by his peers, as reported by Martindale-Hubbell, for many years. He is also listed in Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.
